The Brainspotting meeting  will be held at the Ferradura Hotel (http://ferraduraresort.com.br) in Búzios, Rio de Janeiro state. The hotel has very comfortable installations to host the conference, is very close to Ferradura beach and about 1 km from Búzios main street.

The area of Armação dos Búzios, or just Búzios, was originally the home of the Tamoios native Indians. Invaded by the French Pirates, later it became a small fishermen village. It is on a peninsula, whose shape resembles an island. The region’s beauty and climate transformed Búzios in a cozy and cosmopolitan small city.

With more than different 20 beautiful beaches, the charming and sophisticated beach resort also offers an exciting night life. During the low season, Búzios becomes a hot destination for people to enjoy gastronomy, art, nature, aquatic sports and relaxation.

The climate is one of the remarkable features of Búzios. Enjoying a yearly rate of about 300 sunny days and average temperatures ranging from 25ºC in winter (July, August, September) to 30ºC in summer (January, February, March), Búzios is a perfect place for outdoor activities.

Búzios busy commercial centre, located at Rua das Pedras and neighborhoods, opens from mid afternoon to the early hours. An amazing variety of clothes and accessories shops by the best Brazilian designers can de found. Dozens of craftsmen exhibit their works in leather, wood, clay, pottery and jewelry. Along the Orla Bardot most bars and nightclubs open at 9 pm and go all the way to dawn. Some restaurants offer live music and dancing floor where people can dance all night long.

Búzios also holds some interesting projects for natural conservation, including geology and paleontology. One of them explores similarities between the rocks found today in the Himalayan Mountains and the oldest rocks of southeastern Brazil. The reason is that at about 520 million years ago, the region of Búzios was part of a giant mountain chain, as tall as the Himalayas.
